How to prepare for NEET Biology for free
You do not need paid coaching to learn NEET Biology well. The AK Rajan Committee found that the average cost of NEET coaching in Tamil Nadu was ₹95,033. Source Here is a plan that costs nothing.
Know how Biology is marked
NEET has 180 questions; 90 are Biology (45 Botany, 45 Zoology). Each is worth 4 marks and a wrong answer costs 1, so Biology is 360 of 720 marks — half the paper.
Make NCERT your only textbook
NEET Biology questions come from the NCERT Class 11 and 12 Biology books. Learn those well before adding anything else.
Study one concept at a time
Break each chapter into concepts. Learn one, then immediately answer the real NEET questions on it. If you get them wrong, re-read that concept, not the whole chapter.
Use previous year questions as your guide
Previous year questions show what NEET actually asks and how. Do them concept by concept as you learn, not only at the end.
Revise little and often
One or two concepts a day, every day, beats a long session once a week. Come back to old concepts and their questions every few weeks.
Watch negative marking
Because a wrong answer costs 1 mark, practise telling apart the options you know from the ones you are guessing.
